What's happening

We've now added prawns to Sally's list of likes. She had some prawn and pea risotto the other night and after a couple of them seemed very keen to eat the prawns! Not as keen as she is about the peas - only 'hlives!' and 'cheez!' could possibly be as exciting as 'peez!' - but still fairly enthused.

Our new house is finally shaping up. We have new blinds and new curtains throughout and, if not paint on the walls, at least pots of paint in the hallway. It's a start. I spent my lunchtime the other day dutifully constructing a set of shelves I'd bought to go under the stairs after unscrewing half a million screws and removing the ill-advised boarding that was placed there by our esteemed previous owners. Sally's room has had all its woodwork rubbed down and most of the holes filled. I think her room will be the quickest to complete so I need to pin Sam down to a time to finish it. Failing that I could just move her out into a different room and get on with it myself.

Nothing major to report on the development front at the moment. I think Sally has now said 'bird' and she continues to 'baah!' obsessively over her Timmy Time books. She likes to feel the bricks of the wall on the way to the swings (the NEW baby swings behind the house)and say 'bicks'. She definitely now says breakfast, which is nice, but otherwise nothing new. She is however, indescribably cute at the moment. She loves playing BOO!, especially if it actually makes her jump out of her skin, loves being tickled, having raspberries blown on her... She reads quietly to herself, finds interesting things to do with random bits of stuff, and is usually happy to occupy herself. She is definitely a toddler, and has mini-tantrums over all sorts of things - mostly when she wants something I won't give her, like my wallet - but a firm refusal to give in means that after thirty seconds screaming she gives up.

I've been experimenting with tying her hair in bunches. It's a bit short, but it's nice to see her with a hairstyle for once, and it does look quite cute!
