I've gone through and changed a few things in previous posts. Normally I wouldn't do this because it exploits how you can alter the written word - which seems like cheating - but in this case I think it is appropriate.
It's very difficult to read a post that compares children, even in an indirect sense, without feeling a sense of disrespect is meant. And although I think my little girl is the greatest thing in the world, I don't think that she is any way better than any of the other kids out there. In fact anyone who has ever seen me trying an failing to demonstrate to her how to crawl onto a bouncy castle will know that I think she's pretty malcoordinated in a lot of ways!
So I have made use of the advantages of the digital age and deleted or altered things that in retrospect I can see were unhelpful and potentially offensive comments.
